I built Succession-Ready™ because I’ve been on both sides of the gap it closes.
For 20 years I operated inside Fortune 500 complexity. At a global electronics manufacturing firm, I scaled two business units from $50M to over $1B with full P&L accountability across 10 global regions. I built teams, made the hard calls, and delivered results in the kind of high-velocity environments where leadership failure has a dollar figure attached to it. I was the youngest VP in the room and I was very, very good at performing.
That last part nearly cost me everything.
The burnout that put me in the emergency room wasn’t a breakdown. It was information. My identity had fused completely with my performance. I wasn’t leading. I was addicted to achieving. And the gap between those two things; proving you belong versus leading like you were built for it, is exactly what derails the most talented executives at exactly the wrong moment.
In 2016 I moved from Germany to the United States to lead a struggling division. I applied everything that had worked in a German operating environment to my new US team. In the first six months, I failed significantly, in ways that eroded trust, stalled execution, and quietly signaled I didn’t know what room I was in.
That failure put me in the chair of a leadership coach for the first time. I scaled that division from $30M to $1.2B at exit.
Eighteen years of doing, failing, and learning in messy complexity became Succession-Ready, everything I wish I'd known ten years ago.
Delivered with a tough commitment to performance expectations and a tender heart for the human doing the leading.
The ceiling you keep hitting isn't above you. It's in you. That's actually the good news.
